FAQ -
PROTECTION TIPS

1. When I try to register protected Active X DLL (with regsvr32), it causes fault after entering activation code?

Turn "Hide executable object names" option OFF and everything should work fine. If it does not work you can also try turning data or code sections encryption OFF.

2. One of my programs built with Borland C++/Delphi is not working properly after protection. What can I do?

Try turning data section encryption off. Program should work properly after protection.

3. Is there any way I can protect my animation or PowerPoint presentation with PC Guard?

Yes! You can use Microsoft Camcorder to convert PowerPoint presentation to an AVI animation: Do View/SlideShow in PowerPoint, and start recording in Camcorder. When done, stop Camcorder and save. Camcorder captures all events on your screen, and allows you to save as an AVI.

You can also use SecurePack to convert your PowerPoint presentation to standalone executable and protect it with PC Guard for Win32 afterwards.

In general, if you are able to convert your animation to executable file than you will be able to protect it with PC Guard for Win32/.NET.

4. Protection of Microsoft Excel and Access files.

You can not directly protect MS Excel documents (.xls) and MS Access database (.mda, .mde).

However, you can create DLL (dynamic link library) with you custom check functions, protect it with PC Guard and than call it from VBA code and invoke protection code. We can provide you with sample Excel/Access protection examples on request.

You can also use XCell Compiler (http://www.doneex.com) to compile .xls documents to standalone executable files (.exe) and then use PC Guard for .NET/Win32 to encrypt and protect such files.
